The speaker

Kalin is the co-founder and CPO of Astea Solutions. He has more than eighteen years of professional experience in a variety of technical leadership roles, and in the design and implementation of a broad range of custom software solutions.

His professional career started at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences where his work and research was concentrated on predictive analytics and the modeling of consumer behavior with neural networks. Kalin holds a PhD in Computer Science and an MSc in Mathematical Logic from Sofia University’s Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, where he has served as a Vice Dean and currently teaches as an Associate Professor in Computer Science.

Kalin, together with his colleague Trifon Trifonov, will talk about the “Spirit of Agile”. Both Kalin and Trifon believe in the importance of adaptive planning, process optimization, and continual improvement.

Are you flexible or are you Agile?

Thirty years ago, the concept of Agile software development was revolutionary. Today it is so widespread that it is almost considered an industry standard. Immersed in processes, frameworks, and methodologies we sometimes tend to forget what it really means to be Agile. We will explore an approach for establishing the “Spirit of Agile” as a core value even in a strict environment with seemingly inflexible constraints on the process, time, and budget, and hopefully make the experience and collaboration of teams and clients more successful and enjoyable.
